Rumors flying around in NY. Could it be Tourney extension?
Zach Braziller
“The Garden and Big East announce press conference to make “special announcement” at halftime of Iona-Columbia today.”
He has a lot of credible sources as a NY Post writer.

Zach Braziller again
Source: Big East and MSG have reached contract extension to keep tournament there for next decade. There was an opt-out coming up in a few years. Big East is locked in for the prime days it has held tournament. If Big Ten or ACC want it they’ll need to play a week early.

Iona to the Big East. Seriously, why not wait until St. John's game?

Glad it got extended two more years.... and now it's locked in past the opt-out period!

Holy cow. What a HUGE announcement, capping off a great weekend for the Big East. Two huge ranked wins over Wisconsin and Kentucky, and a huge extension for our tournament at Madison Square Garden. Without question, Val Ackerman is the most underrated major conference commissioner in college athletics. She has been an incredibly strong ambassador for our schools and our conference, and she has repeatedly secure our future assets between our television deal and Madison Square Garden. This will be a strong chip in our next television deal, 100%.

The Big East is well positioned. Boy, the B1G and ACC must be pissed. Left out in the cold!
...by 2028 it will 45 years of BIGEAST @ MSG. Over two generations of fans growing up watching the Big East at MSG. It will be hard to break loose such a marriage... there has to be a lot more money and "security" involved for the MSG to look elsewhere
