Fri Nov 9th 2018 - (2+) Big East Games...

Postby billyjack » Thu Nov 08, 2018 3:59 pm

Two games on Friday night, the weekend of the 100th anniversary of the First World War Armistice, the war to end all wars.

Friday, November 9th, 2018:

D-2 New Haven at Seton Hall, 3pm.
Providence vs Wichita State, 6pm, in Annapolis MD.
Bowling Green at St John's, 6:30pm.

Hoping the Friars can continue their solid play, and tighten up their 3-point defense. Despite losing to Louisiana Tech, i'm expecting a tough game vs the Wheat Shockers. This game is at the Naval Academy, very cool.... "Anchors Aweigh".

St John's should roll over Bowling Green at Carnesecca. This will be my first look at the 2019 Johnnies.

Tip o' the hat to Hall2012... the Pirates host D-2 New Haven tomorrow too.

Really looking forward to PC going to 2-0 with a win over an AAAAAAACCCCCC team!

Bowling Green makes me nervous as they have 2 starters at 6'10" and 6'11" and height is not really our thing.... ;)

Below are 2 nice articles about Marvin Clark and Mustapha Heron.....both make you appreciate how hoops (and sports in general) can help to improve the lives of the players but also the communities around them......the Heron article is from The Athletic so I'm not sure if you'll be able to access the full article without a membership, so apologies up front....

From a Creighton fan to our friends at Providence, please give the Turds an extra kick in the Arse on Friday. There may be a more obnoxious fan base in the country, but they are in the top 3. Coach Gregggg usually has them ready to play after a loss, but I'm not sure they have the talent this year.

I think the PC vs WCC line has already moved to PC -7. For the love of all things holy, please, please, please take care of business. I have your wonder frosh and Diallo combing for 60 in a 17 point Friar win. Don't disappoint.

Johnnies...it's time. No more fretting over the BGU's of the world. Take care of business. You KNOW they can't can't guard Ponds.

In my gut I feel that our days of worrying about true cupcakes are over. Too much talent this yr. Good luck with our 3-headed monster of Ponds-Heron-Simon Bowling Green! They will definitely put up more of a fight than Loyola, but I still expect a double-digit win. If we didn't foul every 3 secs last game and take our foot off the gas pedal after half, we would've won last game by 40+. Let's put these suckers away. Johnny fans are out for blood and angry this year. Hope the team is just as hungry!

Pirates win the exhibition 73-62 and it wasn't really that close. Willard spread playing time around a lot and did a good amount of experimenting with lineups.
