X is riding a 9 game winning streak and Nova has lost 2 of their last 3. Xavier has a 1 1/2 game lead over Nova right now for first place in the Big East. If they win on Saturday, they are virtual locks to win the regular season.

I honestly have no idea what to think of this game. Typically I would give the edge to Nova and their ability to lock people down on demand. But seeing their recent losses and Xavier's winning streak makes me think this is a true 50/50.

If Villanova plays like they did against St. John's or Providence (NOT TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM ST. JOHN'S OR PROVIDENCE) where they shoot under 20% from 3 and are passing to people on the bench Xavier could win by 20.

As evenly matched as these 2 teams are, I’ve gotta like Xavier, based on home court alone. With Booth apparently out for the regular season or close to it, Villanova still isn’t at full strength.

My heart says Xavier, my mind says Nova. I voted for Nova. I know that the game is at X and the muskies are a great team this year, but Nova has had our number and when was the last time they loss two in a row?


As a side note I have been mostly worthless at work today, it's hard to focus on anything other than the game.

I'm Debbie Downer on this one... Nova out of sync... beat up and short handed. I think X wins going away. Would be thrilled if it doesn't go that way, but who knows?

I would Love to see Fox start doing a GameDay like ESPN. This one would have been just about Perfect.

Oddsmakers say home court is worth 3 points, but I wonder if the Cintas homecourt advantage is worth more.

I shot the deer in headlights years ago, but wonder if there is a mental factor just seeing the Villanova jersey.

Xavier is definitely on the upswing, improving as the season progresses. The improved play of role players (Goodin, Marshall, Scruggs) is elevating the whole.

I have to believe the depth of Xavier is enough to overcome Villanova this go round. Although I do not think anyone will be surprised to see the Generic Mascots leave with a victory.
