Mac, giving a protege a game. Initially thought to be conference mandated (as was in the MLK date games in the past) but not so this year.
I'd rather have played an old nemesis: UNÍ, Fresno St, CS Fullerton, W Kentucky, the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana, or Southern Illinois. It's late to have a prime time OOC game.

I don't care what the reason is Big East schools should not play D2 schools

yeah. I mean if St John's had played almost any one instead of Molloy, they're 13-13 and getting 4 more wins to include the BET=an easy NIT spot. But now they're 12-13 and getting 4 more wins to include BET means they're 16-16 and right on the bubble for the NIT even- and a 1st round loss would DQ them from the NIT as they would be 15-16.

kind of a critical game for Butler. A loss, and all of a sudden they're #45 in the RPI according to Warren Nolan's great impact games tool (
http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2018/ ... eam=Butler). 7-7 in conference play With 4 not so easy games left quite frankly(Providence, Creighton, @ St John's, and @ Seton Hall). A win tonight and while they don't move up would be 8-6 in conference play and would just need 1 of those final 4 games to feel locked in just about.

Why? It's essentially another exhibition game; it doesn't count towards the NCAA tournament. Would you rather Creighton play some 300+ RPI team? There was a hole in the schedule, and they filled it. Who cares?

A good win by Georgetown. They seem to be playing better. Tough loss by Butler. A loss that could potentially put a dent in their NCAA tournament hopes.

All of the sudden, no one wants to be last in the Big East....

Georgetown deserved to win that one - good job by the Hoyas.
Looks like the league may only get 5 in. Don't see Butler being one of them.

LOL I've noticed. Tomorrow's loser will likely end up in last place, IMO.
The Big East tournament could turn out to be a doozy.
