Two games tonight in the #1 RPI conference in America.

#5 Xavier at Butler, 6:30pm.
Georgetown at Providence, 8:30pm
.

Couple of fun but tough games.

Patrick Ewing returns to the Dunk for the first time in 33 years (i think).

And, because the world revolves around the city of Providence:

Also of note is that today is the 40th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, where the State of RI (and eastern Mass and parts of Conn) got 48 inches of snow in 2 days (considering i was only 4-foot-four at the time, it was kinda cool). We got a week out of school.

A couple of days later the Top-20 Friars beat Top-10 North Carolina at what is now the Dunk. UNC went into that dumbass Four Corners a little too early, and PC won on a late shot by Bill Eason.

Nice writeup here:

3 minute highlights (not sure why a dog was on the court at the 13 second mark).

Does Bahe live under the bleachers at Hinkle? I swear he's done 90% of their games so far this year. I'm not saying he's doing a bad job, it just seems like he's always there.

Butler could improve their seed tonight. Important game for PC. Need to take care of business at home. A loss won't knock them out of the field, but it will put them on thin ice. Can't lose home games to non elite teams.

He just likes to put his fingerprints on the game.

His day job is a daytime radio host in Omaha if anyone wasn't aware. He did a lot of CU games early, but that seems to have tailed off in conference play.

Hey Butler-bros, we certainly would not be upset if you guys took it to the X-Men this evening. In fact we’d be real cool if you guys spanked them convincingly.

Surprised that the PC spread is only -7.5. G’town starting to get some love I guess from Vegas. Losing in tough fashion on the road at X and then going into the Dunk is not a great prescription for conference success for a bottom half squad. If I were a betting man...I think PC wins this one in convincing fashion.

Big test for Xavier tonight. It will be tough to go into Hinkle and come out with a win.
