Butler vs Winthrop, 1:30pm.

Winthrop of the Big South... best win was at Illinois... losses to Dayton, Florida State, New Hampshire. Butler's first step on their return to a Final Four.

Winthrop is coached by Pat Kelsey (former X player and assistant coach). Sorry to see they got a Big East Team first round, now I have to find a new Cinderella to route for.

In a single-game situation, Winthrop is a dangerous team. They take a ton of threes and make a good amount of them. Keon Johnson is a stud and Xavier Cooks is going to be a tough matchup for the Dawgs. When Butler's lost this year, it's been at least in part because their opponent shot well from deep. Could be a game I could see the Dawgs winning by 15 or losing by 15.

I have to echo PKI's sentiments here. Not only does Pat have strong ties to X, he's also a top notch guy. Having said that, I'm all in on the Bulldogs to get this one to start an extended run. Best of luck to Butler.

Anybody watch the Butler press conference? kinda ridiculous how some hack continued to ask Butler players and Holtmann about Keon Johnson.

Read an Indy Star article about the matchup a few minutes. Holtmann and the Winthrop coach know each other well from Holt's Gardner-Webb days. They actually had lunch together in Indy eight months ago and picked each other's brains.

Pat Kelsey is a great guy and might be Xavier's future coach. He came to my school to talk to me then give a speech to all the other students when I was in 5th grade since my teacher knew him and always talked Xavier with me but gotta root for Butler no question.

Butler is at their best when Woodson/Savage are adding offense. Great start

Pretty good crowd in Milwaukee. Butler can't let them hang around and have the crowd turn on them.

1st half of BU sort of reminds me of last night. Hope the outcome is different.
