St. John's is trying to complete the sweep and Marquette is trying to stay at the top of the middle pack.

This game is huge... for both programs.
St. John's trying to rack up as many wins as possible with the solid and fun to watch LoVett/Ponds duo. Hey, you never know... Don't count the Johnies out of the BET!!!
Marquette needs this win badly if it wants to keep its tourney aspirations alive (one of only two programs in the Big East who haven't appeared in NCAA Tournament since realignment)

I know they've won more league games than anyone expected, but until somebody, anybody, starts showing they care even a little bit about playing defense, I just don't see this team getting where we want them to be anytime soon.
