Anyone know what the likelihood is of Davis returning to the Xavier team any time soon?

January 9th is the insider word on the street.

Not sure I get the cloak and dagger on this. From the Omaha paper today:
» Xavier coach Chris Mack has indicated that senior Myles Davis will return at some point this year. But it won’t be Wednesday against Providence. Davis, suspended indefinitely in the preseason, averaged 10.8 points per game last season (second most on the team).

My guess is he doesn't want it distracting the team and games at hand. Also he doesn't want opponent to know when he is coming back. What people forget is Myles was our assists leader last year and that is what we need most. Although his dead-eye shooting won't hurt either.

If it's January 9, it'd be right before a 3 game stretch with Nova, Butler, and Creighton.
If this were Coach K and he did the same timing, folks here would be railing against it.

Has he been suspended from the school or just from the basketball team? Has he been practicing?

He has not been practicing. The specifics about his punishment are 100% unknown right now. Could be the University Conduct Board set the date, but no one knows. I don't believe he was enrolled in the fall semester.

January 9th sounds good to me.
From what I understand he has not been practicing, not in school, and not even in Ohio.

There have been reported sightings of Myles in Cincinnati, but you are correct, media has confirmed he has not been practicing. This whole situation is certainly a distraction to Xavier fans and Coach Mack as he is repeatedly asked about it, and continues to respond evasively. I can't see any way that he would play against Georgetown.

At Villanova will be his first game back most likely now. Sounds like the suspension was until the beginning of second semester(January 9th) so first 5 games back @ Nova, @ Butler, Creighton, Georgetown, @cincinnati. Welcome back!
