Minor accomplishment: This week marks the 100th week Butler has appeared in the AP Top 25 this century. That equates to just over 30% of the weeks this last 18 seasons.

schedules hurting both of them.....
both- played 4 teams in the top 100, and gone 2-2. Best win for each vs RI for PC and vs Cal for SH.
Seton Hall hasn't even played anyone in the 101-200 range. At least PC has played Vermont, UMass, and New Hampshire....

For Seton Hall, I think the issue is that they haven't beaten anyone with a sub 100 RPI yet. That road win at Iowa doesn't look as impressive as it did earlier. Get the win tonight and you can boast a win versus a ranked team.

For Providence, it is hard for a team that was unranked preseason and now has two losses to get attention. Also, damn URI has crapped the bed since losing to Providence, thereby making that win look less impressive. Just keep winning.

Hey now, CBS has Cal at #94. But yeah, it's basically just a lack of impressive wins for Seton Hall. Hopefully they'll grab one tonight against South Carolina, but as long as they continue to avoid bad losses they should be in decent shape as league play will give them plenty of chances for quality wins.

Not that I think Providence should be ranked, but a couple of votes here and there should be possible, especially when looking at "others receiving votes"... maybe steal one of the 9 handed to Valpo or 8 from TCU... or 1 of the 155 gifted to Cincinnati...?

Seriously, each year, how does Cincinnati stay ranked? They always require 17 crowbars and 12 guys stomping on their fingers before they let go of their Top-25 baton.

when you make the tourney 6 straight years, you're going to get the benefit of the doubt. Also the voters are less inclined to drop a team who loses to a good team OOC. They like the good OOC games.

and before you say what about X last week- that was only because so many teams right behind them had huge wins. very unique situation.

PC is rated 51st right now. It'd take a 'wow' win to get votes with that sort of score.
