Georgetown looked pretty dominant in the game, which is great to see. 105-60. On the whole the league looks much improved so far. Butler, Providence, and DePaul obviously still haven't played yet, but I'm pretty confident in a win from Butler tonight.

It's tough to tell only because of the competition. We'll learn a ton next week when there's a lot of great opponents.

where i'm excited for Georgetown is they didn't dominate bad teams last year at all. Only vs St John's did we get over 90 points. losses to Radford and UNC Asheville. Even some of the wins weren't great- only 19 to UMES? 17 to Brown? 30 to Bryant? To win by 45 is just huge.

We're baaaaaaaack.

Hope people got their shots in while they could because this a whole new team.

I know it was just USC upstate, but still the style of play is different as is the energy.

Everybody is 'back'. The whole damn league took a big step forward.

There are still only 90 league wins to go around.

In some ways, I agree "everybody is back," man down. Lots of talent in the conference, as a whole.

'Hooligan, you tend to jump the gun a bit early. I'd wait a few more games before the "crowning," per se'. I do like the pressing style (as, I watched a few minutes of today's game), and attempting to wreak havoc. But, if you think it's gonna have the same effect against much better competition, then you better pump your brakes. Especially, teams with heady players and better ballhandlers. Their style will have their moments against good competition, but there will be times where they'll get mightily burnt.

Take today for what it was--a beatdown of a much inferior opponent, and some solid play from a handful of players (Pryor, in particular). It's a very, long season.

Cautiously optimistic aren't we :)

I will say this. At least six teams make the dance this year out of the following:

Nova
X
Jays
Hoyas
Hall
Butler

With Marquette, St. John's & Providence in the mix for more.

Probably an inferior opponent today but it's a nice change of pace from last year when they were losing and struggling to beat some cupcakes.

It's a welcome change. it used to drive me nuts when they slowed the tempo and shorten the game against inferior opponent. you know that's what the other coach was preaching to his team. "the only way to beat these guys is if we slow it down and make it a half court game".

I hope they didn't completely abandon the 'princeton' offense as they will need that against better competition.
