Slow work week. Pretty bored. So I've been building a database of past conference results of our teams. Here's what I have so far:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cSumS3rFUIU7ippZc25V-fktZnxjdzyVyjIuOV4wGzg/edit?usp=sharing

Some quick facts:
1. 2013-2014 Creighton and 2014-2015 Villanova are the only teams to have a perfect season at home.
2. No program has had a perfect season on the road.
3. No team has been winless at home (2015-2016 SJU came close. They had one home win).
4. 2015-2016 St. John's is the only team to go winless on the road.
5. DePaul and St. John's are most affected by venue: They have a 2.00 home win:road win ratio. Xavier is third in this category.
6. Villanova appears least affected by venue. They have a 1.09 home win:road win ratio. Butler and Seton Hall are second and third in this category, respectively

7. There are a number of teams that are winless at certain opponents:
a. Butler at Villanova and Xavier
b. Creighton at Georgetown and Providence
c. DePaul at Georgetown, Providence, St. John's, Villanova and Xavier
d. Georgetown at Providence and Villanova
e. Marquette at Butler, Villanova and Xavier
f. Providence at Marquette and Xavier
g. St. John's at Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown and Villanova
h. Seton Hall at Butler and Villanova
i. Villanova at no one...they have at least one road win against everyone
j. Xavier at Seton Hall and Villanova

8. There are some teams that are winless against certain teams at home:
a. Butler against Providence and Villanova
b. Creighton against no one...they have at least one home win against everyone
c. DePaul against Butler, Creighton, Georgetown and Villanova
d. Georgetown against no one...they have at least one home win against everyone
e. Marquette against Villanova
f. Providence against Villanova
g. St. John's against Villanova
h. Seton Hall against Butler
i. Villanova against no one...they have at least one home win against everyone
j. Xavier against no one...they have at least one home win against everyone

Like I said...super boring week at work.

Anyways, thought this was interesting. I'm gonna do some more stuff with this in the next couple of days. Gonna do some overall head-to-head data. See which series are most lopsided, least lopsided, etc. Might do some Big East Tourney stuff too.

EDIT (8-4-16, 3:46pm EDT): Marquette won at Creighton in 2015-2016
EDIT (8-4-16, 4:47pm EDT): Marquette is not winless at Georgetown
EDIT (8-4-16, 7:38am EDT): Providence has not won at Marquette

Thanks milksteak. This is a cool thread. I really like stuff like this. I can't believe won at Butler all 3 years. Last 2 years we made improbable comebacks, including a banked-in three in one game.

Just one quick correction. Marquette beat Creighton in Omaha this year. :x

I don't know if its beacause Nova won the tourney or its just been long enough. But this conference is starting to finally feel like our own. No more "Old" Big East references everytime the conference is mentioned. No more "AAC" is just as good etc.

Think about it, this year's seniors will have played in nothing but the "New" Big East.

I think this data adds something interesting to the whole hardest places to play article/thread.

I certainly don't consider the Verizon Center a particularly hard place to play. Especially not of late. Yet Georgetown is one of 4 teams to have defeated every team at home.

Although several other schools that I think are tougher venue like Marquette and Providence can't make that claim only because of Villanova so not sure how much that means, but it is interesting especially since Georgetown has not been Georgetown in the NBE.

PC won at Marquette? I feel like we have never defeated Marquette anywhere.

Seton Hall prefers to vanquish its demons under the bright lights of MSG. Combined 1-11 against Villanova and Butler during regular season play (lone win home vs Nova), but a combined 3-0 against them in the Big East Tournament.

Right, we definitely haven't won at Marquette in a while...
2016 was double ot loss when Bentil scored 42.
2015 was loss when Dunn had a ton of turnovers.
2014 was like a 50 pt deficit at the half.
2013 i think was the bat game, a double digit loss.
Unless i'm forgetting something, that's our house of pain....!
