Pretty much. A lot of money and not a single NCAA bid. Though they did get NCAA sanctions.

It'll be interesting, Jankovich did a good job at Illinois State turning the team around on a downward trend to a competitor in the Valley for the five years he was there. I was pretty surprised he was never able to get them to the tourney though, he had some solid rosters in his time in Normal. I think they'll definitely take a hit from the last few years regardless, tough to replace a hall of fame coach.

To be fair, they made the NCAAs in 2015.

The AAC likely has seen it's floor already quite frankly(until/if the conference is raided). UConn and Cincy both are preseason top 25 teams- and will continue to have good to very good teams. But the real reason why the AAC is going to get better is Memphis. Tubby Smith is going to have them much better than they've been lately. It won't be a shock at all to see all 3 of those teams make the tourney. And SMU isn't going to be going away quickly either. And still have Houston improving quickly and should be a real bubble team this season.

The conference will be at least as good as the A10- as the best non P5/BE conference. I know folks here want the AAC to be a 1 bid conference that absolutely is meaningless, but that just isn't realistic- and won't be as long as the conference remains intact.

Imagine what Brown could do somewhere like DePaul? A couple of years with a new building and his recruiting shenanigans and they'd be dancing for sure.

he cheats, gets sanctions, and leaves abruptly. that's who he is. smu's 'success' over the last few years is no more meaningful, and no more legitimate, than Brady Anderson's 50 HRs in 1996. Fake

Give SMU a few years, and they'll be cheating again. Maybe they'll go back to cheating in football.

Im surprised the cheater stuck around this long......now AAC only has 2 known cheaters in Haith and Sampson.
