Huge loss!

"Sources told The Post Rohrssen was unhappy with his role at St. John’s (he expected to have a bigger say in everything from recruiting matters to in-game strategy) and his relationship with Mullin had turned sour.

If Rohrssen does leave, special adviser Mitch Richmond is considered a heavy favorite to replace him as the third assistant coach, alongside Greg St. Jean and Matt Abdelmassih."

So here is my guess, either....

A) Mullin realized that the guy can't coach and you can't waste the Associate Head Coach position with someone who can't coach

or

B) Slice got caught doing something less than ethical

Seems par for the course when it comes to St. Johns...

Richmond was a great player but if he is assistant, that will be a very weak staff when it comes to coaching experience....

It seems like C is closer top the truth.

C) Mullin was going more with Matt A's players and Slice was trying more for big name guys who weren't going to go to SJU.

The word is SJU and Slice are negotiating a buy-out. That would mean SJU wants him to leave - otherwise they would not owe him anything.

I can't be alone in thinking the Mullin experiment is going to end very badly.

Why? Because Slice is leaving? All of our recruits who make up the #1 recruiting class in the Big east came from Matt A. The recruiter who helped build Iowa State into a power under Fred Hoiberg and is a SJU alum/former team manager. Right now we are hosting a camp with the best prospects in the city all in attendance. Also you forget where we were after Lavin was let go, how much badly could it end up? You people really are funny around here.
