...seven teams moved to the ACC from the Big East - Miami, VT, BC, ND, Louisville, Pitt and Cuse. This covered a span of over ten years. During that ten plus year period, not one has played for a national championship in men's hoops. In the third year of the reignited Big East, we are playing for a championship tonight. Not too bad.

And Villanova will win it for is. Not too shabby at all.

Even more ironic is that none of them has played for a football championship either. Didn't they make the move for football?

Maybe the ACC took the wrong seven? Let's not forget the gift of NCAA violations for Miami, Cuse and Louisville....

I believe they made the move for money. Football, championships, athletic competition adding to the collegiate experience - well, they all fade in comparison to a big payday.

It's hard to make an argument that Virginia Tech should have stayed. They always would have made more sense in the ACC than the Big East for reasons that have little to do with money and more to do with geography, rivalries, student athlete experience, and so on.

Others' moves are much harder to defend for being reasons other than money.

What do those schools care? They are all making more money, right? Boston College is especially better off...
