saw 1st round ratings out:
Georgetown/DePaul 128k
Marquette/St John's 138k

last year:
Marquette 135k
Creighton 79k

2 years ago:
DePaul 205k
Seton Hall 139k

so averages:
2016 133k
2015 107k
2014 172k

so up by 26k(24.3%) from last year, but down from 2 years ago....

by the rounds-
QF- 2015 120.8k, 2014 183.3k
SF- 2015 244.5k, 2014 258k
F- 2015 414 k, 2014 702k

I'd say pretty solid 1st round numbers this year.

I know that I'm focused on attendance, but it is interesting to me...especially when it comes to the money aspect that accrues to the schools.

Basically, yesterday's Big East afternoon session alone had equivalent attendance to what the entire A10 Tourney has drawn so far. Of course, today will be better in Brooklyn with all of the VD Cryers and VCU hill jacks that will show up, and I know that the Big East Tourney is not fully selling out like before, but we have 10 schools vs 14 or 16 like in the A10 and old Big East. It was incredibly worth it to keep Madison Square Garden as the venue. Major League all the way. Look at the joke that the Hobo-esque AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC has become. No permanent home and now they're having the Iraqui Information Minister putting out falsehoods about 8,723 mannequins allegedly sitting in the Amway Center seats.

41,280- Big East attendance so far (3 sessions)
17,549- A10 attendance so far. (3 sessions)
*8,723* - alleged. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC attendance so far (one sessions)

I love this league.

why are you comparing us to the bush leagues? while you're at it you might as well throw the SEC in there, without kentucky it's about 12 people.

Just because they're BE wannabes and some scribes (looking at you Mike Decoursey) want them to be too.

They had to curtain off the entire upper area at the acc tournament due to poor attendance.

X - Marquette - 200
Seton Hall - Creighton - 170
Villanova - Georgetown - 101
Butler - Providence - 93

Avg - 141k, up from 121k last season in the quarterfinals.

Looking for some big numbers tonight. Hopefully 300k+ for both games.

I haven't seen any numbers, but I watched some of the OU-ISU game last night during breaks of the Jays-Hall game and the crowd did not appear to be great. Obviously, with the BigXII tourney in KC, when KU or K State are playing the crowds would be expected to be better, but OU-ISU was huge--two ranked teams with OU battling for a one seed. I was surprised at how low the attendance appeared to be.

The Seton Hall/Villanova Big East Tournament final drew a 1.0 overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, up 233% from Villanova/Xavier last year (0.3) and up 100% from Providence/Creighton in 2014 (0.5), both of which aired on FS1. Compared to the last championship of the original Big East, Louisville/Syracuse in 2013, overnights dropped 52% from a 2.1 on ESPN.

The Pirates’ upset win scored the second-highest college basketball overnight on the Fox Sports family of networks, behind only a Duke/St. John’s game in January of last year (1.5).

Solid rating this year. This year definitely has a pre-2013 Big East feel. I like were we are headed. I'm glad that Fox continues to be committed to the Big East and displaying the Championship Game in FOX TV shows the commitment.

Also, you have to consider that other media outlets like ESPN basically put all the effort in the world to ignore the Big East Tourney. These numbers are legit and will only get better
