The 2016 Big East Tourney, sponsored by Jeep, kicks off tonight at the World's Most Famous Arena in midtown Manhattan, in the world's greatest city.
DePaul vs Georgetown, 7pm, FS1.
St John's vs Marquette, 9:30pm, FS1.
I like that the Johnnies have the late game tonight, since it should make for a great atmosphere.
Our first-4 teams have combined for wins vs George Washington, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Syracuse again, Rutgers, Arizona State and Wisconsin again, and LSU.
We're locked in at a minimum of 5 NCAA bids, so we can kick our feet up and enjoy some great BET competition all week.

I think the end of the seton hall game broke the johnnies spirits this regular season. But back at MSG in the conference tournament, I expect a good fight from the youngsters
SJU 66
Marq 64
* Marquette and Creighton are by far my 2nd and 3rd favorite teams in the conference, so if the johnnies go down tonight i will be rooting for them to run the table

Going to break down the games using KP 4 factors:
Marq Off vs SJ Def:
Eff FG% 52.1% #71 vs 50.8% #210
TO% 20.3% #303 vs 20.2% #60
Off Reb% 28.2% #223 vs 31.0% #239
FTA/FGA: 39.3 #103 vs 42.2 #287
SJ Off vs Marq Def:
EFG: 44.9% #331 vs 47.9% #87
TO%: 20.9% #321 vs 19.2% #108
OR%: 27.3% #251 vs 30.3% #210
FTA: 38.1 #142 vs 27.8 #23
Will be interesting to see which offense can protect the ball more. Also, can Marquette take advantage of St John's and get to the line a lot....
DeP off vs Geo Def:
EFG: 49.8% 182 vs 46.4% 39
TO%: 21.4% 334 vs 16.2% 293
OR%: 30.7% 144 vs 28.7% 119
FTA: 36.8 175 vs 50.0 345
Geo Off vs Dep def:
EFG: 51.3% 117 vs 51.2% 236
TO%: 19.1% 239 vs 17.6% 212
OR%: 27.9% 235 vs 30.0% 194
FTA: 38.1 139 vs 44.3 316
Big key to me will be can DePaul score enough? Also, which team can get to the line more- both teams are amongst the worst in giving up Free Throws.... Also, can Georgetown actually force some turnovers against one of the worst teams in the country in protecting the ball?

Any chance the Hoyas can at least scare Nova tomorrow?

St. Johns has about the lowest basketball IQ of a team I can recall.
