With all respect towards Butler and G'town this weekend and any other BE matchup involving these two teams...I am hoping, no, praying to the BB gods that we see a Top 5 match-up next week in OH. The 2 undisputed heavyweights of the BE this season going toe to toe in an epic BE battle that will surely get the attention of all national hoops media.

Although I could never root for it, I may not even mind X winning that game. It could help Nova get grounded and hungrier as March approaches. There would also be something poetic about both going 16-2, sharing the BE regular season title, then marching their way towards a Saturday afternoon BET Final in MSG in NYC in a winner-take-all battle for ultimate BE supremacy. Now THAT would cap a tremendous BE conference season.

Probably just jinxed both...sorry about that.

like I said on the other thread- it's going to come down to-
1- how X does with Georgetown. X needs to win comfortably or they'll get dinged. tough to say that- but that's where Georgetown is now.
2- how Oklahoma does with WVU. A big Oklahoma win and they probably stay in the top 5.
3- how the voters see Wisconsin. X was tied with Michigan St.

what is good about next Wednesday is that the rest of the schedule that night is brutal. So it will get full attention that night as the game of the night- no matter if X is 6 or 5.

X already has 3 Big East losses, but if you want to lose another one AFTER next Wednesday I wouldn't mind sharing the title.

One thing thinking about it Gumby, I think if Nova lost to Butler, they would remain in the top 5 with all the carnage that has gone on this week.

I think as long as Xavier beats Georgetown, AT Georgetown, they will be Top 5, coupled with a Top 25 win against Providence.

#3 Oklahoma lost to an unranked bubble team, #4 Iowa lost to a .500 4-win B10 team, #5 North Carolina lost at home to Duke, #6 Maryland lost to a previously B10 winless Minnesota.

If anything, it has to do with how North Carolina does against Miami and Oklahoma does at West Virginia. If they both win, Oklahoma and UNC will stay in the top 5 along with Nova and Kansas. Michigan State doesn't play this weekend, so I am not sure how someone could make the argument that beating an unranked and bubble team in Wisconsin at home is better than beating a Top 25 Providence at home and Georgetown on the road.

Regardless, doesn't matter much. Will be a great Top 10 team against the 2 best teams in the Big East next Wednesday

I think the media that had Michigan St ahead of X going in would keep them ahead. Same with X. It would be extremely close. It was tied going into this week it was that close.

Unfortunately right now, the Georgetown game can only ding Xavier.
