NIT bubble

I know we talk a lot about the NCAA tourney- but the NIT could be huge as well.

right now you would think these teams are going to the post-season NCAA or NIT guaranteed
Nova
X
PC
Seton Hall
Butler
Georgetown(they could get dicey really fast as if 1 unexpected loss happens, we're 16-15 and in deep trouble 2 losses- and we would be ineligible for the NIT).

Creighton and Marquette right now are probably on the bubble for the NIT. Hopefully those 2 teams can win enough here to qualify for the NIT and maybe get 4-5 extra games and really help prep them for next season

The bubble gets smaller if the regular season champ doesn't get an birth to the ncaa tourney.

yeah, normally see about 8-12 NIT bid thieves. With where Creighton/Marquette are- that could be HUGE.

just found something from the bracket matrix with a NIT bracketology.... this was as of Feb 26- so before last Friday....
Creighton 4
Marquette 5
Georgetown 6

Marquette and Georgetown both lost this weekend. not bad losses, but losses still.. .

have got to think tonight's Marquette/Georgetown game is quite possibly a NIT elimination game. you start to get into the auto bids(which I think we're going to see more than normal). Creighton needs to win a game to get in the NIT still I think....

Yeah, I agree that Creighton needs one more win to probably get an NIT bid, not sure where we are gonna get that though. Will not be favored in our next 3 games....

There's an excellent chance Creighton will get 2 shots at Providence in the next 3 games. If you can't get one of those you ...

If Creighton loses to PC and X, they are 9-9. If Butler beats Seton Hall and Marquette, they are 10-8. PC would be 10-8. Creighton would have Seton Hall in the QF in the 3/6 games. It would totally hinge on the Butler/Seton Hall game then....

And if Creighton beats PC this week then loses to X???? Again my point stands, THERE IS AN EXCELLENT chance they get PC twice in the next three games. FACT. Like I said in the other thread, you just love to argue don't you?

If Creighton beats PC this week, then they are fine for NIT purposes. For the purpose of the NIT, if they lose, it's very much up in the air whether or not they would see PC 2x. It's very much just as possible they would see Seton Hall as it is PC.

Nothing about my post changes or is in anyway inaccurate. There is an EXCELLENT chance they play PC twice in the next 3 games. Again FACT. It's not a lock, but more than likely they will. For Creighton to play Seton Hall, they have to lose twice and both Butler and PC have to win twice or PC beats Creighton and loses to Depaul with Butler winning twice. Anything short of that results in PC or Creighton finishing 4th and 5th, with Butler 6th. The only way Creighton and Butler finish 4th and 5th is for PC to lose twice(once to Depaul). Quit arguing for arguments sake.

And no shit if Creighton wins this week they are good for the NIT. Again nothing about my original post changes or is in anyway inaccurate. If Creighton can't win one of most likely two chances they'll get against PC in the next week maybe they don't deserve an NIT bid. Again quit arguing for arguments sake.
