Visiting Marquette - Beer at Bradley Center and all venues

A couple of friends and I are heading up to Milwaukee from Chicago for the Xavier Marquette game. We've been to Milwaukee before for Brewers game's but wanted to get a little more insight on games at the Bradley Center. Xavier is having a pregame event at Mo's Irish Pub, so we may swing by that but also wanted some advice for places to eat/drink near the arena (as well as any parking recommendations). Biggest question we had also was around beer...is it available in the arena?!?

If anyone from other schools want to add if you can get beer at your venue as well, that could be helpful to other away guests.

Xavier does sell beer on at Cintas and has a lot of different options from domestics to crafts.

Thanks in advance!

Yes beer is available! Don't bother with the leinies it's only one size and the kegs are ancient (I used to work at the Bradley Center). If I were you I'd check out the brat house it's pretty much as close as possible to the bradley center and the brats are out of this world plus you're indulging in Wisconsin's native food! Some other places to check out are Jackson's pub in the old pabst brewery, point east pub if you're a fan of wings they're nationally renowned. I don't know how old you are but if you're my any older than me (25) stay off of water street, except maybe Trinity as that's the only non college bar on that stretch.

If you want more suggestions on bars to go to or food to check out let me know! Geting lost and checking out hole in the wall places and new bars is kind of my hobby.

What a timely thread. I'm taking the wife up for a Valentimes Day trip and the CU-MU game. Any suggestions on hotels? Which ones to avoid and which ones are good? I'm seeing some nice rates at The Plaza and The Milwaukee Athletic Club. They both look to be walking distance from The Bradley Center. This true?

As far as parking goes street parking is free on weekends but you'll have to park a bit further away. After the game, old world 3rd street is a decent option, they have several bars and most of them will be busy. Buck Bradley's is probably the most popular bar for after games. Mo's is more downtown so if you want to park near there I'm not sure what your best option would be (I think they might have a shuttle service for games though)

I have no idea on the hotels you mentioned. But you may want to check on The brewhouse inn and suits. It is the former location of the pabst brewery, is suppose to be pretty nice and is within a reasonable walk to the Bradley center. The iron horse hotel also gets outstanding reviews but is not within walking distance of the arena and is probably a bit more expensive.

Wasn't that place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? Authentic German, right? Literally flies beer in from the Hofbrau Haus in Munich. Real brats and German pretzels, etc.

Milwaukee and Cincinnati are both German-dominant towns, so that would be a fun, if not presently frozen, trip for anyone of that ancestry.

I believe the one you're thinking of is Old German Beer Hall. It's next door to the brat house.

A Lofts is right there. Plus there's the Milwaukee Hilton on 5th and wisconsin, if you have kids they have a water park in there. Really Milwaukee's so easy to get around you could stay at the Ambassador and an uber to the Bradley center would only be $5.
