A Wager!

Today's ESPN Bracket projection (Lunardi today) has 4 BEAST teams in the dance (Nova and XU at #2, Friars at #3, and Bulldogs at #7.) but 8, yes that's 8, PAC 12 teams projected to be invited.

Hmm, so now I'll bet anyone in the USA that both events don't happen (BE gets only 4 or fewer dancers, PAC12 gets 8+ dancers.) I will accept up to 5 wagers. In order to win, you must have 8+ PAC12 teams invited to the NCAA tourney, AND 4 or fewer BEAST teams invited. I will not accept any wager over $1000; we can create a mutually acceptable SECURE payment method as soon as you apply.

FWIW, I strongly believe that 1, and still maybe 2, among Creighton, Georgetown, Seton Hall, and Marquette will get dance invites in March, and that fewer than 8 PAC 12 teams get invited -- I'm thinking just maybe 5, or perhaps maybe 6. Any takers on my bet? Just post here that you want in, and indicate the $$$ you want to wager, in reply to this post. We'll figure out the SECURE payment method for whoever wins. I will also post this message on several PAC12 boards.

There is no way 8 PAC 12 teams get in. But I do think its possible only 4 BE teams get in. Of the teams on the BE bubble, only Seton Hall has a marquee non-con win and even that one isn't what it should be (Witchita St.) Creighton, Marquette and Georgetown would have to win multiple big games and the easy ones as well. So if one of them goes on a tear they could do it. But Seton Hall had the best setup to get in. Unfortunately there seems to be chemistry issues again.

That's not how these sorts of bets work. If you make a proclamation like that you should be confident enough that both of the two things you are pointing out won't occur, instead of just one.

TL;DR: You made a emphatic statement but you don't back it up with a wager as emphatic as you're statement. It's a cop out.

Marquette already has a big in conference win (@ Providence) unless we're discounting the Friars as a legitimate top 20 team, which I certainly believe they are.

I think 11-7 or 10-8 plus 1 in the BET can get Marquette in.
