Starting to get boring...

Knowing my team wouldn't be competing this year (SJU), I've been fully invested in the Big East and have watched every second that I've been able to. Surprisingly, the season has become too predictable. We're doing so well to a point that even Stever can't troll anymore. We're #1 in RPI, have 4 top 18 teams, ESPN is praising us and there's not much more to prove as far as thee regular season goes. Yeah, the OOC portion of our schedule isn't over quite yet but it nearly is. This will be a minimum 5 bid league and there will be more competition and excitement at the top.

These teams need to face some real competition, each other. New Year's Eve provides this: #12 Xavier @ #9 Nova and #15 Providence @ #18 Butler.

What's the purpose of this topic? Count your blessings, because the Big East is playing of its mind. I don't think anyone predicted this. Congrats to all teams. :)

Its been a huge OOC season so far. But it's not over. The Big East needs to finish strong. We absolutely need SJU to pull a miracle tomorrow against SU (hey, you never know!) and for Seton Hall/DePaul/SJU/Creigton to finish the OOC with .700WPC+ records. The goal should be to have a 80% winning percentage overall by New Years Eve. If they achieve that there is no way that ESPN and the rest of the media can ignore the Big East. Requiem for the Big East my ass

I would love to see 7/10 teams in the NCAAs when it's all said and done. Right now, it certainly looks like a possibility

Why do we absolutely need SJU to pull a miracle? I'm a SJU fan and I'd love to see it happen but don't see us winning. Very optimistic once Ponds and LoVett arrive but based on how SJU has played I don't expect to get more than a few wins in conference. That would be better for the rest of the conference anyways than if we got like 7-8 wins.

Truth is most people don't really care about depth and few care about how good the bottom feeders (like this year's SJU team) are. Most people care about teams in the top 10-15. Teams that can compete for a Final Four. Our biggest problem last year was nobody besides Nova looked like a Final Four contender. This year there may be 4-5 potential candidates (Nova, X, Providence, Georgetown, maybe Butler).

I know where you're getting at and hope the coaches/teams put in 100% effort but just saying as fans we're very fortunate how the season has played out.

I think I exagerated by saying the need to absolutely win this game... they don't... But it would be damn good for the B.E

I'm seeing it terms of RPI. If the bottom pack of teams can have good enough RPIs by New Year's Eve then it would help the teams at the top. We all know we are going to see a few upsets here and there when the conference season rolls around. Those upsets will hurt the teams at the top so we want those bottom tier teams to be as good as they can be... I would hate a good team to fall into the bubble because they had a bad night against the Johnnies, or DePaul. I know the Johnnies are on Rebuilding mode but beating a team like Syracuse (highly unlikely) tomorrow would pay enormous dividends for the conference.

I'll be watching the game. You never know what can happen. games need to be played for a reason!
