Sorry, that's our fault. Gottlieb has hated CU ever since we absolutely embarrassed his arse his senior year in a game at the old civic center. He airballed something like a dozen shots (o.k. maybe not that many). At one point late in the game with OSU down about 5 points, he had the ball at the three point line off to the left of the top of the key with his defender sagging off of him at least 10 feet, and the crowd actually hollering at him to shoot. He hesitated and then shot - and airballed so bad I don't think the ball even made it to the baseline. The place just exploded in laughter. In the waning seconds, with his team down one possession, he hustled into the front court turned and fired a no look pass to the wing - and straight out of bounds because there wasn't anyone within 10 feet of where he threw the ball. OSU lost to lowly MVC CU, and Gottlieb experienced what I am sure he would have to admit was one of the lowest points of his career. He has bad-mouthed CU at every chance. I think the BE is guilty by association. Well, that and the fact that he has always been an unabashed BigXII homer.

"Tried to tell people last year". Wow childish amateur. What's Novas record against the Big xii? I know beat Kansas a few years ago.

He hated the Big East when we had 16 teams and was the greatest BBall conference ever assembled. He would call the conference overrated every year while gushing over the ACC.

Gottlieb is one of the new breed of journalist/media personalities. A professional click bait troll, a no talent media hack, that has to resort to saying inflammatory things just to get anyone to play attention to him. And media people wonder why they have lost respect and trust of the public. I'm not just talking about sports journalism either, it's across the board. It's all about the Benjamin's(ratings or web page hits).

Right now did some looking. Last 2 years and this year so far. Nova has played 8 KP top 50 teams OOC/tourney. Their record in those 8 games? 4-4. With first 3 wins being early 2014 season(Kansas, Iowa, and St Joe's). That's right- last 5 OOC games against top 50 teams, Nova is 1-4. Losses by 16 to Syracuse, 12 to UConn, 3 to NC State, and now 23 to Oklahoma. Only win in that period- VCU.

Just for comparison did same look at Xavier. They're 8-3 now. With the first 3 games in 2014 (win over Tennessee, loss to Iowa, loss to Tennessee)- means X is 7-1 in their last 8 games OOC/tourney vs top 50 teams(only loss to Arizona last year in the tourney).

If Nova did OOC/tourney what X has done- no one could say anything about them at all.

Sorry, but right now, I don't think it's all that inflammatory to say that Villanova isn't an elite team, but just really good. Last year the only team Nova beat OOC that made the tourney was VCU. Last 4 losses to good teams OOC/tourney- all were ugly losses for Nova. And in the 4 games took 122 3's and 103 2's. Last night just reinforced what everyone thought about nova. Look at the drop in the CBS top 25 and 1.

prior to last night, they had 3 OOC losses in 3 years...
1. lost at the Carrier Dome after being up 24-6,
2. lost to the national champion in a game tied with 10 minutes left,
3. lost by 3 to NC State...

they've had 3 OOC losses in 3 years, and "everyone thought" they sucked...?

Dismiss beating:
- Kansas and Iowa (that makes sense since they happened 22 days prior to the Carrier Dome loss),
- a ranked Michigan team that later imploded,
- Syracuse,
- a VCU team by 25 in a game "everyone thought" they'd get run off the floor,
- Illinois last year,
- Temple twice,
- Stanford,
- Georgia Tech,
- Nebraska,
- Southern Cal,
- Xavier 5 times,
- Providence 5 times (who blew out Miami and Florida State, and beat Notre Dame),
- Georgetown 3 times,
- Butler 4 times...

but wow, the dopes at CBS Sports are down on Villanova now...! Villanova is now 1-1 vs the Big 12 in 3 years, and Oklahoma has a great team.

P.S. Duke lost to Kentucky by double-digits last month. They just can't run with the SEC...!
