I think you could make a case the last week (Sun-Sat) was the best week yet for the "new" Big East

PC showed extremely well vs Michigan St(and won a toughie at RI)
Xavier killed Dayton and avoided let down next game
Butler beat Cincy in what was a great game on the road
Georgetown beat Syracuse
Villanova kept on rolling

could easily have 4 top 25 teams with a 5th just outside(wouldn't be a shock to see Georgetown in)

You say well Creighton, Seton Hall, and St John's lost. That's true. But what's important about things is really more at the top of the conference. Perception wise, the NBE has NEVER been this good.

Oh- and DePaul won 2 games!!! Go Blue Demons!!!!!

The thing that surprised me the most last week was the way Xavier manhandled Dayton. They look like they might be a legitimate top ten team this year. After watching the Nova game tonight, I'm beginning to think Xavier might be the team to beat this year, and the team most likely to make the deepest run in March.

what impressed me was the bounce back after the Dayton game. playing a decent Western Kentucky game, they won by 31 points.

well, I was wrong. Even with the Nova loss, THIS week was the best week ever for the Big East.

Definitely the best 30 days for the new Big East.

Sets up what is a HUGE Saturday next weekend....
Auburn @ Xavier
Villanova @ Virginia
Wichita St @ Seton Hall(IMO just a HUGE game for Seton Hall)
Creighton @ Oklahoma
Northwestern @ DePaul
Butler vs Purdue

If Creighton and Seton Hall can win those games- 6 bids IMO becomes not just possible, but dare I say LIKELY? And 7 bids becomes just a bit less of a pipe dream.

Think Georgetown should get more votes this week, and wouldn't shock me to see Marquette get some votes as well.
