- Did you know that the Sycamores' home opener in their undefeated 1978 season was vs Butler?
- Rutgers is the 6th best team in Jersey, behind Seton Hall, Monmouth, NJIT, Fairleigh-Dickinson and Princeton. I think they could beat Rider and St Peter's.
- Will Boeheim coach tomorrow, or start his suspension? I like the Hoyas at home.
- DePaul's first game at All State this season. Keep your focus Blue Demons and you should be fine.
- Creighton finishing up a Valley commitment on Loyola's beautiful lakefront campus. Tip time is same as DePaul's, 10 miles away.
- Big fan of Maine's Bob Walsh, who coached for years at Div-3 Rhode Island College (alma mater of my mother and sister), minutes from my hometown.
- Loss of EC Matthews was a huge setback for the talented Rams. The sold out Ryan Center will be loud, and the game will be chippy. Will make for good TV.
- Xavier has had a week to prepare for the Hilltoppers. XU will crack the Top-10 with a win. It's all good.
- Sunday: Brooklyn vs Queens. The Johnnies should handle St Francis of NY, who lost 3 key seniors from last year.

[ EDITED to include NJIT above Rutgers... thanks marquette... ]

What about NJIT?

Hoyas by 20.

No Bohiem. Syracuse has no depth, no rebounding. They made a living off of Gbinije hiting 51% of his threes. That's not going to hold up. They're young so the zone isn't as good as it has been in the past. Hoyas roll.

Massey Chance of Winning for Big East Teams:

Seton Hall @ Rutgers: 65%
Indiana State @ Butler: 92%
14 Syracuse @ Georgetown: 67%
Chicago State @ DePaul: 89%
Creighton @ Loyola: 64%
Maine @ Marquette: 96%
23 Providence @ Rhode Island: 47%
Western Kentucky @ 12 Xavier: 93%

7-1.

Marquette fans, enjoy Maine. Last year's Maine team was one of the worst Division 1 teams I've ever seen.

The flu or something similar has been running its course through the Xavier lineup since the last day of the tournament. Thank God they have had the week off and their first game at the other end of the week is at home against a weak opponent.
