Well written article describing how the publisher hired a Pulitzer winning reporter in researching the material, to make sure the story was legitimate. Not that this is any surprise in the college sports swamp, but I would hope this gets some attention. Also, I would hope that the 10 of us in the BE avoid this crap.

Any school that would recycle Bobby Petrino is going to be ripe for this crap. That entire athletic department may be running amuck.

Don't know how good a comparison this is, but contrast that with UC. Both went from C-USA to Big East to AAC then Louisville left for AAC. UC had a few black marks (Huggins) and tried to clean it up by giving him the boot and set their basketball program back 10 years. And their Football coaches have always seemed classy enough. Yet UC is stuck in the AAC whereas Louisville gets the P5 luxury.

WOW, just wow.

I guess any school which hires Bobby and Rick has questionable decision making. Bobby has an especially low life background.

As has been previously stated the crud seem to be the ones who are promoted. Just consider the current problems at Rutgers, those at Miami and now Louisville. I expect it is very unlikely the Big East will undergo this kind of thing. However other private schools such as SMU have done so.

I have to wonder if Pitino survives this in light of his own sex scandal. Does his marriage survive this?

1. These are teenagers we're talking about, 17 and 18 year olds. I wonder if there was a 16 year old in the group.
2. We're talking about adult women - not co-eds - having sex with teenage, high school boys.
3. The blockbuster in all of this aside from the prurient, is the use of university funds for this purpose.
4. I wonder if any STDs were transmitted in any of these encounters.
5. Pitino and his staff could be subject to criminal prosecution. Promoting prostitution in Kentucky is a felony. This fits the definition. It's especially serious if any of the prostitutes were under 18. Even more so if they were under 16.
6. I've got to think that Calipari is the next target for a similar investigation.

Frankly I don't see how Pitino survives this. It doesn't matter that this goes on at other schools. It will destroy his career and ruin his reputation. I see early retirement on the horizon.

It looks like most schools that leave the BEast go down in flames. Please help me fill in the blanks with transgressions or just irrelevancy.

Boston College-irrelevant
Pitt-soon to be irrelevant. Northern East Coast recruits have turned their backs on them.
Syracuse-wins vacated
Rutgers-pick a transgression and they have been irrelevant for years.
Miami-dominated in football in the BEast. Now just another team in the watered done ACC.
Virginia Tech-see Miami

Now Louisville-prostitution etc.

The Beast is doing just fine without this nonsense. I cant say enough great things about the direction of our league. We are starting to scratch the surface of our recruiting. We will be at a superior level very soon. If St. John's does what I think they'll do, it will help the conference tremendously. Can't ignore NYC! Those St. John's, Georgetown, Nova, Marquette (Wojo) recruiting battles should be epic.

I think the statement about the recruiting is iffy at best. The P5 are going to get theirs at least as much as they've already gotten. Maybe we can get more top guys that have been going to AAC, A10, MWC, etc. type of schools.

Still one of my favorite Butler wins. Butler was unreal that day.

Stop it with this shit that we can't out recruit P5 schools. If you said blue bloods then sure, but we recruit better than most of the P5.

Virginia Tech, Oregon, Oregon St, Washington, Washington St, Northwestern, Utah, Rutgers, BC, Miami, Florida St, Bama, Auburn, USC (east and west), Georgia, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, TCU, Texas A&M, Vandy, Nebraska, Iowa, Penn St, Colorado, Clemson, Wake Forest, Arizona St, Minnesota, Cal, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Purdue, Notre Dame......Are you saying all of these schools out recruit us? C'mon guy.

Oh and Ponds who we just signed had a final 3 of SJU, Providence and Creighton.
