At the moment the B1G (85) is in it's own 1st tier and the BE is in the 2nd tier with ACC & B12 separated by less than .2 points.

Sagarin numbers aren't relevant yet because they still have last years data in them. You can see that in the 2nd/3rd ranked teams- both are 4-0, #2 sos is 328, #3 is 294- but 2 is Louisville, 3 is Michigan St.

right now, Colley, which is another BCS computer has the Big East #4... Only using this year's data

Big Ten .845051
Pac 12 .834795
Big 12 .815041
Big East .794897
WCC .787492
AAC .750810
A10 .734018
SEC .712335
ACC .709196
MVC .587093

I thought the ACC looked high but wasn't sure why. But the team data is based on this year only.

I think the team data is also based on last year still..

Colley's team ratings:
6 Xavier
17 Butler
35 Providence
36 Creighton
45 Villanova
75 St John's
85 Seton Hall
91 DePaul
114 Marquette
153 Georgetown

have to say- just basing on this year- they feel pretty accurate. we'll see how they go come end of the weekend....

not saying your wrong, but im surprised to see x that high if there is any relevance to last year considering it was a rebuilding year where we didnt do so hot.

As bad as X was last year, they were still in the top 80-85. With the win over Tennessee can see X getting up to 51 pretty easily.

Another one I like to follow is the Massey Ratings:

16. Creighton
32. Villanova
36. Butler
41. Xavier
53. Providence
54. Marquette
61. Georgetown
63. St. John's
95. Seton Hall
121. DePaul

Those seem pretty accurate to me so far. I like PC but they haven't really played anyone yet. I still think MQ, GTown and St John's are good teams but they have warts on the resume to start. DePaul and SHU look like they are going to struggle to compete but are not remotely like the dregs of the ACC/SEC.

Boy, that would be not great for us. Providence and Marquette at 53/54 probably would be out.

I'd say look at the ratings a week from Monday- after all the exempt tournaments are over. After that- most of the prime OOC action is done.

The Sagarin rankings are pretty much meaningless until they get "reweighted" in December. This is because they are driven early on primarily by last year's rank. Even Sagarin will tell you that this is the case, and that therefore these early ratings shouldn't be taken very seriously.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.
