FOX Sports 1 ratings

Everything that I have seen has indicated that ratings for FS1 are worse than expected. On the other hand, they've only had a couple of weekends worth of college football games to boost viewership so maybe that's to be expected.

Thoughts?

I've been following the ratings and I'm not sure I agree. I would say they are as expected. They are definitely worse than ESPN/ESPN2 but did anyone expect FS1 to beat those two out? The ratings are better than NBC Sports Network and ESPNU which would be expected. Other than Oregon at Washington, the football games have been pretty weak though. FS1 does that Oklahoma at Baylor coming up which will be a nice game.

I think they are as expected. They are not going to challenge ESPN for a while and they need to get their primary live programing underway. College hoops will help.

I do my part and flip a TV at my gym to FS1 when I'm there in the mornings.

I've tried to commit myself to FS1. However, there are two times when it's unwatchable: Regis' show vs PTI and morning SportsCenter vs FS1 rerun of nightly highlight show.

I abandoned ship a long time ago. Hopefully when BB starts it will pick up it's tempo.

Amen...and really what is Gary Payton doing on tv? The other day he said "snitches get stitches!" (insert cheezy Tony Montana impersonation) about the Jets alerting the league to the Pats' cheating ways. Dude is a millionaire he needs to stop pretending like he ever was a gangster.

FS1 needs more mainstream programming. They've focused so much on UFC in particular(but also boxing)- that for a lot of mainstream sports fans- it's not appealing. The football games haven't been good enough in general..

It'll be interesting next Thursday when Baylor and Oklahoma play in football of FS1. Good NFL game to go up against- Washington/Minnesota. But then- got a Clippers/Heat, Lakers/Rockets dh on TNT, and worst yet- Oregon/Stanford on ESPN. So a brutal night of competition quite frankly for FS1 that night.

(not to mention it's November sweeps times for the regular networks, which will fritter away some folks).

Given the success of the World Series ratings (surprisingly out drew NBC's Sunday Night NFL last night) and the fact that the series is at least going 6 games, means maximum exposure for all the Big East promotions that FOX includes during each broadcast. That is awesome fortune for the BE!

I`ll admit that when FS1 has a BE school vs. a mid major and ESPN has 2 top schools going head to head that I`ll watch espn, I`ll tune in from time to time to FS1 to see the score. If it`s close in the 2nd half then I`ll stay with FS1. FS1 does have some good OOC games but not like espn.

When BE play starts then that all changes
