Ohio University beats Xavier?

I'm guessing this was a closed scrimmage - didn't think they kept score. That said, some dude at Twitter leaked this boxscore:

Semaj only took 5 shots. Kmall Richards didn't play? Both teams combined for 91 free throws attempts.

Pretty bad that someone leaked this box score. The point of these closed scrimmages is that coaches can experiment with different lineups and not worry about a loss tainting their reputation in the polls or with the selection committee.

PC has a closed scrimmage vs. Harvard.

Ohio isn't chopped liver. And who knows what the goals were for this game?

There's not really any reason to make a big deal of it. It's basically a practice. I look at it about the same as a bad practice. It's not exactly positive news to have a bad practice, but isn't worth being too concerned about.

You can't characterize it as a "bad" practice since you have no idea what Mack's objectives were. I'd simply disregard the numbers and outcome altogether.

Xavier lost an exhibition game a couple years ago to a Division 2 team. They ended up going 15-1 in the Atlantic 10 and went to the NCAA Tournament. I'm not going to put too much stock in preseason results, good or bad.

To your point, I think Syracuse went to the sweet 16 after an exhibition loss as well.
