Who is the next Big East coach to leave?

Stevens would have been a good guess because his stock was so high, but who will be the next to leave his school voluntarily or involuntarily? I've always thought Jay Wright had an interest in going to the NBA but we'll see.

Been down this road with a few X coaches over the years.

Gillen to PC
Thad to Ohio State
Miller to Arizona

That being said, I think the BE and the $$ associated now allows X to keep coaches from stepping up to all but a few select jobs. I think Mack, an alum, is around for as long as X desires.

Purnell is probably most likely asked to leave, I think Willard bought a few years after IW. Buzz is probably first to voluntarily leave IF Texas opens up.

Well handicapped...........how many years does Lavs have or Miller? Without exceeding expectations in the near future I think not as many as many may think.

Everything about Jay screams NBA and I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually left.

Jay's already been offered a shot at the NBA. He's been offered shots at moving up to more national programs (rumored to be Kentucky's target before Gillespie). He grew up in the area and has been a Big East and Big 5 fan most of his entire life. He's not going anywhere for a long time. Nova is his dream job, and he has said as much every time a rumor surfaces. Some coaches find their spot and are very content (Boeheim, Izzo, Calhoun, etc.). I think Jay fits this mold.

And he has seen the opposite in Pitino. Pitino was fortunate to get it all back at Ville. And the downside when Coach Mass left to some extent.

Nova is the dream job. Tons of cash, high job security.

His wife's also a Villanova alum.

Jay is now the dean of Big East coaches. This is his 13th year at Villanova, the longest tenure of any current Big East coach. If staying there this long doesn't tell people that jay loves his job, I don't know what will.

Yeah, they were practically throwing the 76ers job at Jay and he didn't want it (not that I can blame him).

My guess is that Purnell is on VERY thin ice. Like he needs be at least .500 this year or he's going to be looking for work.
