Really? That's a question right now? I'm biased but one guy is going to be the returning NCAA scoring leader and 2 time consensus first team All-American on a team that is projected to be in the NCAA tournament. As far as NBA draft prospects, Semaj would probably get the edge on that one.

I'd put money on it being someone else altogether. Really think the 3 new guys are going to struggle in their first season in the Big East and the POY will end being from one of the C7.

I definitely think the unanimous preseason POY is McDermott. No question about that.

Semaj could be a dark horse candidate by season's end, though.

agreed. McDermott is certainly going to be the preseason POY.

That being said assuming the general voting pattern remains the same as it has for the last 15 or so years in the BE the POY has come from the team that finishes first or second. That's just the way it works. POY essential = best player on the best team. So I do not think Christon will be a likely person to win it just because I do not see xavier finishing in the top 2. I think the possible candidates will come from: Marquette, Creighton, Georgetown, St. John's, Villanova, Providence.

Marquette: Gardner or Wilson
Creighton: McDermott
Georgetown: Starks
St. John's: Sampson or Harrison
Villanova: Pinkston
Providence: Cotton or Batts
xavier: Christon

I do think Edwin is a likely BE DPOY but i don't think he has a shot at POY as seton hall will not finish that high.

Let's see- one choice is a 2 time All-American and the other was 2nd team A-10 last year.

I agree with you but, you can't use this argument. Otto won POY last year and he wasn't on any All Big East Teams the year prior. He wasn't even included on the All Rookie team.

This is spot on. If Marquette wins the league, look for an MU player. The one difference could be McDermott if he gets so much publicity it could be impossible to not vote for him even if Creighton falters and finishes outside the top 2-3.
