No offense, but can you please stop using the term "law of averages?" You continue to misuse the term. I've stated to you several times you're not properly using it.

It doesn't mean what you perceive it to mean. The way you use it is considered gambler's fallacy. A different outcome isn't likely to come about because you believe it hasn't happened in awhile.

If our fortunes were to turn, it won't have anything to do with law of averages. It'll be due to our team simply taking care of business (even if there was a little luck involved).

THANK YOU! the guy is driving me nuts also...

I've made a fortune applying the gambler's fallacy with blackjack... on my android

"Driving you nuts"? Here's a novel concept: scroll past. I think I just solved it. Eureka!

MullinMayhem, where are you getting this notion that Mike Rice is going to St. John's??? They have their entire coaching staff intact from last season. I am not 100% but I am pretty certain that there is a limit by the NCAA on how many assistants you can carry on our staff. I know in football the NCAA rules allow FBS teams a head coach, nine assistant coaches and four graduate assistants, all authorized for hands-on work with players. The NCAA also sanctions five strength and conditioning coordinators. Not sure what the basketball rules are but I don't see SJU carrying 4 assistants. That's a lot of salaries. If they were going to fire someone, wouldn't that have occurred already? Just curious.

There are some rumors on Redmen from very reliable posters. Same posters who knew about Heron a week before he left Auburn and are 100% genuine. Granted, they're not confident in this like they were for Heron, but it's definitely a possibility. They could give somebody on staff a lesser role within the organization I think.

One assistant would be demoted.

Demoted to what? He'd still be in the coaching staff. Maybe I will be wrong on this but I don't see the folks at St. John's bringing in Mike Rice (let alone dumping a current assistant for him). If it's just coming from a fan message board I can't give it much stock.

I don't think it's much a a secret that Mullin (as well as probably just about any metro area HC) wants Mike Rice on his staff and has for a while - it's just a matter of convincing the administration that the benefit of having him on staff will outweigh the initial public backlash and revival/association of his Rutgers abuse stories. Something that rumors seem to suggest SJU may actually be making some progress on.

As I said, this isn't simply coming from a fan message board. I've been visiting Redmen for years, and these posters are always correct. Based on everything they've leaked in the past, it'd be impossible for them not to have strong sources.

They're not saying it'll definitely happen at this point yet, but it's absolutely a solid possibility.

Well I will say this, if it happens, it would certainly make things interesting.

It's clearly not just your average fan...obvious direct information that even reporters don't get.
