Duke : will play #12 Yale who beat #5 Baylor.
Notre Dame : will play #14 Stephen F. Austin who beat #3 West Virginia.
Syracuse : will play #15 Middle Tennessee State who beat #2 Mich. St.
Miami : will play #11 Wichita St. who beat #6 Arizona.
Virginia : will play #9 Butler who beat # 8 Texas Tech.
UNC : will play #9 Providence who beat #8 So. Cal.

ACC with a chance at 6 Sweet 16 teams with #7 Dayton the highest seeded team beaten to get there........Of course I'm expecting Providence and Butler to blow that up.

what a totally appropriate way for Cincy's season to end. I don't know that I've ever seen a team so snake-bit like them- that's 6 2 point losses, plus last week. I'm sure there are others, but I can't remember them.....

The Big East started out 4-0 last year before Providence and St. John's lost in the first round. The conference hit a bit of a wall in the round of 32 with only Xavier breaking through to the Sweet Sixteen.
I'm expecting two teams to make it to the 2nd weekend this year. (more would be great/ less would be a disappointment)

I agree, we need to get atleast 2 teams past the weekend. That should be expected.

I think one of Butler and Providence is going to pull an "upset" and join Xavier and Villanova to the Sweet 16.

I could see Butler, as I think Virginia is suspect. PC beating UNC would be a stunning upset. I think they'll hang for a half, but then get worn down in the second half, and lose by about 15.

The "snakebites" are self imposed---by the snakes themselves.

Cincinnati can't score, mainly because of weak schematics by Cronin. They were actually lucky to get a bid because they beat nobody during the season, unless you want to count two other AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC members- SMU who had nothing to play for in the last game, and UCon, as somebodies. Their defense was subpar and Cronin couldn't design a decent end of game offensive play if John Beilien gave Ito to him to trace. Them losing close games is all on them, nothing else.

They got more than they deserved, and losing to an A10 team, a league that Cronin himself routinely disrespected, is extremely rich and appropo. Goodbye Borecats.

With wins over Alabama, USC and Texas Tech this week, the Big East's record vs the P5 this year is now 29-18.

the committee gave elite 8 to duke on silver platter.

the seeding this year made no sense and we're seeing proof. no way SFA team I watched that dismantled WVU press yesterday is a 14th seed. and mid tenn that led MSU wire to wire is a 15th seed. these are not your david vs goliath buzzer beating upsets. these are good ol sound beating.

I wouldn't mind watching Xavier beat Wisconsin like 73-29.
