The University of Louisville plans to announce on Friday a self-imposed postseason ban on its men’s basketball team for the 2015-16 campaign, multiple sources told The Courier-Journal.

The school informed the team’s players in a meeting early Friday afternoon, a source close to the program said, and will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m. to announce the decision.

Wow.... helps out everyone in the Big East looking at tourney hopes except for Nova and Xavier(they were already ahead of Louisville).... Helps PC with seeding, and Seton Hall/Butler getting into the tourney....

looks like Pitino may be interested in going to UNLV. Wonder if he's been told this year is it for him at Louisville.

Lol, plenty of strippers and escorts there. Would be a match made in heaven, a dirty coach with a dirty program. I hope the NCAA sets up office there.

Would be nice if the post season ban came out when Trey Lewis' final two choices was Louisville and Xavier.

Just read that the two graduate transfers on Louisville were crying when Pitino broke the news to the team. This could serve as a lesson for future players to look at more than a brand name, celebrity coach or big stadium when selecting a team, but was we all know, it won't.

Graduate transfer Damion Lee was once a Friar target. As was freshman Donovan Mitchell.

quite frankly I have no sympathy at all for any graduate transfers when it goes bad. It's a joke system that needs to end yesterday.....

Great to see this on Louisville.

In other news, the Cheatin' Tarheels continue to roll along with no penalty in sight.
If they stall long enough, they'll evetually use the defense of "why punish our current student athletes when they had nothing to do with the scandal".

Defense tactic number 2 is "Look, everyone is just ready to move on... sports fans have Scandal Fatigue... let's just play the games..."

Defense tactic number 3 is "This is a witch hunt...! UNC has fully cooperated with NCAA, blah, blah blah..."

Especially when it's their third school (Tyler Harris).

Only time I get it is for teams like the Ivy League. In the event of an injury, I don't think the Ivy allows 5th year players.
