Creighton up 3 spots to #20. That's great
Marquette maintains at #25. givn they only beat NH by 5- not a big deal.
look at the others receiving votes
Villanova 16
Xavier 11
Georgetown 1(amazing, given VCU is #27)
Providence- who's had a great starts- not receiving votes.
UMass is in the poll this week- #24.
And no doubt about it, PC has played as well as any of the teams receiving votes, but as I said days ago, PC does not have the brand name nationally to make coaches want to give them votes. Unfortunately when your name doesn't roll off the tongue as easily as some other big schools, you have to do a lot more to prove yourself. That's why I said PC needs 2 ranked wins and an undefeated record vs. cupcakes to get in the top 25. The teams that have historically been ranked consistently have a much easier time entering and staying in the top 25.

was Umass ranked that much higher than Providence entering the season? I think it's a joke that Providence didn't get even 1 ap vote. coaches a smidge better. I wasn't expecting them to get ranked but to at least have 4-5 votes in both polls.

UMass also got a nod because won their tourney. Because of timing only, PC can't win their tourney until tonight. Sometimes timing just plain sucks.

Also- with a 15 team conference vs a 10 team conference- you can kind of throw away some teams. A bad ACC team doesn't hurt the conference anywhere near as much as a bad Big East team(or AAC, Big 12).

Big 12 has 10 schools, same as us. It gets confusing since the Big 12 is at 10 and the B1G is currently at 12 (next year 14).

lol- I know. I was saying that they are in the same boat as us and the AAC right now- in that a bad team hurts one of our conferences more than a ACC who has 15 teams.

BS!
The ACC and other leagues always used the BE's size against them saying they weren't as good as pundits claimed because they had so many teams so it was easy to have so many good teams and that the bottom dwellers should count against us. Now we get to turn it on them.
