Winning will cure all. Ewing has a lot more of JT Jr's characteristics than JT3 ever had in this regard. He is a HOF player coaching and has to draw the line. Damned if you & do damned if you don't.

It's funny- I thought the exact same thing reading this.

And I'd say pulling out of the PK80 was so much more JT Jr than it would have been JT3.

and yet your list doesn't have the 2 highest rated opponents of the week.
Fri Dec 1- #25 Creighton @ #15 Gonzaga
Sat Dec 2- #11 Cincinatti @ #21 Xavier
Both Gonzaga and Cincy are ranked higher than Baylor, Texas Tech, or Louisville even.

I think its clear that the thread says Football 5. Meaning, the Big East against the 5 Major football leagues (SEC, B1G, PAC12, B12, ACC).

oh it's definitely clear with that. But I think it's pretty clear that those aren't necessarily the most important games. A game @ Gonzaga is more important than most every F5 game to most every single basketball person around.

We have this discussion on this thread every single year. This is just us against the F5. It is not the most important games, the best games, etc. It is simply how we do head to head against the F5, who ESPN dubs the Power 5, and how competitive we are with those schools.

After yesterday, the gap between the Big East and Big Ten conference ratings (Pomeroy) has just become too big to realistically close. The Big East will finish ahead of the Big Ten 4 of its five years in existence. The Big East is categorically a better basketball conference

The SEC has never finished ahead of the Big East.

Can we please start a thread of BE vs. the SMP7?

SMP7 = Stever Make-believe Power 7

I don't even think that's realistic. What is more important is how teams do vs teams in the top 50. Playing Gonzaga means far more than playing all but a handful of teams. There's a huge difference between playing Louisville and Pittsburgh just within the ACC. Just like there's the same difference between a school playing Villanova and DePaul within the Big East.
