Why don't SJU just schedule H&H with Gonzaga if they want to play them so bad? Why would Gonzaga need to do this to prove their Big East worthiness?
Why does Saint John's need the Gavitt Games or the Big 12 challenge? They recently got a home-and-home with Duke, surely they can get Michigan or Texas on the schedule by themselves if they want to play them so badly. Why does any conference make scheduling arrangements of any sort?

It's St. John's, we don't spell out Saint. Saint John's is a tiny school in Minnesota that has some football coach who won a bunch of games or something.

Saint John's makes a Sweet 16 this century and I'll stop calling them Saint John's.

They have even less reason to take on crappy football programs, with crappy stadiums with no tradition like UC.
UC will never get in the B12. Now what could happen is the B12 could implode and the loser schools that would then be excluded from the P4 would probably merge with AAC schools but that would still leave UC on the outside of big time college football.

This IS A BEast B-BALL board but I can’t resist commenting on this load of BS.
The Bearcat football program has been killing it for over a decade. Other than Tuberville flaming out in his last 2 seasons, UC has piled up a ton of wins. Kelly had them ranked #3 and undefeated until he weaseled off to South Bend and refused to coach them in the Sugar Bowl vs Florida. As a matter of fact, had a Nebraska kicker not missed a 35 yd FG vs Alabama, the Cats would have played for a NC.
As far as “crappy stadium” goes, your out of your f’ing mind. Nippert has been upgraded to be one of the coolest places you’ll find to watch a football game. The fact that it is located in the center of campus along with it’s well defined history makes it top 10.
And BTW, if it wasn’t for those greedy a-holes in Austin and their Longhorn network, UC would already be in the B12. I can see no reason, other than $$$, that both UC and Memphis would not be a perfect fit. They need a bridge to WVU in the worst way. It would add 2 new substantial revenue markets and some seri muscle to their basketball product. Not to mention expanding to 14 by adding UCF and another. That would effectively end any further expansion for the P5. Orlando is a smoking hot market with world class facilities and would greatly enhance the B12.

I think it helps them more than the rest of you, but you'll be fine.
