Big news in LAX. The Big East splits.

The Big East schools split with the AAC/SEC schools to form 2 separate Women's LAX conferences.

On the Big East side are: GEORGETOWN, Butler, Marquette, Villanova, Denver, ODU

If you have a D-1 men's football program, you have to give a lot of scholarships to women in other sports to meet Title 9's gender balance objective. And if you do that, you will then typically choose to also beef up the men's programs in those sports. In Women's Crew, top level success now requires a lot of D-1 scholarship athletes.
