I love Ponds especially but if comparing he and Lovett to those two, I'll take the Jays. Not sure that's a true backcourt though. Is Thomas a true PG or are they both off guards? I really like KT's full package. Really nice player and offensively Foster can light it up as much as Ponds can or more.
I think I'd take Cartwright and Diallo and Brunson / Booth over the SJU backcourt when considering both sides of the court. But a good debate...
hortle wrote:Thomas is better than Foster, I think he will make a very strong case for best guard in the conference. If he tightens up his handle and knocks down threes, its game over. He's definitely a 2 guard, but a damn well rounded one at that - great defense/rebounding, good IQ/passing, decent shooter

We'll see how that car runs with a new engine the whole season. They did great in the NCAA without the advanced scouting, the round robin schedule exposes all warts. Well se what happens when Goodin's game is picked apart in the BEAst grind. On paper, they are the best team, but I'm not sleeping on veteran Nova & Hall teams. I'm definitely not sleeping on Cooley's coaching ability with his most talented and experienced roster to date.
Saying all this, they could go to the *Final 4 but standings in the BEast are a whole different animal.
*Two examples off the top of my head of teams that didn't dominate the league their respective years.
UConn 11
Nova 85

i mean quentin played basically the entire conference season last year. this team will have 4 seniors, 3 who've played all 4 years in the BE, a junior, and two sophomores who both played significant minutes last year. we could be the most experienced team in the league behind seton hall.
both of those teams lost a lot more than we did (Kemba Walker, Ed Pinckney).
