Are they more talented than Georgetown?
If Bentil returns, and PC just loses Dunn and no one else, why is everyone so down on a team that has made three straight NCAA tournaments?
Please don't try and stop them, this will now be the 4th year these same people are picking Providence to be down near the bottom of the league, they all have been wrong EVERY time. It's fascinating to watch actually.

Exhibit A - Sumner, Davis & Blueitt
Exhibit B - Brunson, Booth & Hart
Just sayin'...

Bluiett isn't part of the backcourt. I think Creighton's back court is better than Xavier's. Foster will have to have a pretty good year for it to be better than Brunson and Hart though.
GumbyDamnit! wrote:In today's game it's hard to differentiate the term guard from a wing. And the way the game is played there is less a back court and a front court and more perimeter and interior players. Multiple guys can handle the rock, play multiple positions, initiate the offense, shoot the ball from deep, etc. 15 years ago the guards were the shooters and ball handlers, the forwards were guys who drove to the hoop and played midrange, and traditional 4 and 5 men set picks and posted up. Now Brandan Ingram and Kevin Durant are "wings." They mostly stick to the perimeter b/c the can hit the 3, but get out in transition and drive to the basket. And teams like the Warriors have 5 guys who can all play several different positions.
In the BE guys like Hart, Bluett, LJ Peak, Copeland, Martin, Huff, etc are wings IMO. There should almost be the designation of 3G. Calling them a forward does not reflect how they play the game by traditional standards.
So to get back to the debate...the teams that IMO have the best "trio" or combination of a lead guard, a 2G and a 3G/wing are (this is before possible NBA defections):
1a. Brunson, Booth & Hart
1b. Sumner, Davis and Bluett
3. Whitehead, Carrington & Dezi R.
4a. Watson, Thomas, Huff
4b. Campbell, Peak & Copeland
