So now you are back settling for the school you quit on a decade ago after that mighty state school fired you?

I know, don't talk bad about depaul because we are supposed to bury our heads in the sand about them.....

DePaul was in ConferenceUSA back then. Has anyone from CUSA every won a National Championship? (That's a serious question)..

That's a more complicated question that it at first appears.

The simple answer is, No. As long as there has been something called CUSA, no member has ever won a national championship under that banner.

The more complicated answer is that what we call CUSA is simply a new name for an expanded Metro Conference. CUSA was formed in 1995 by a merger between the Metro and Great Midwest Conferences. But the GMC was just a short term arrangement to accommodate the needs of Metro teams while members of the Metro were trying to figure things out.

What we now call the PAC 12 went through a similar process in the late '50's and early '60's. Members left. Members came back. The conference changed its name. When the dust settled, Isaho was gone for good. Yes, Idaho was once a member of what is now the PAC-12 - for a long time. They were replaced by Washington State.

So, what the Metro went through on its road to expansion is nothing new. CUSA was really just a renamed and expanded Metro. When viewed as Metro/CUSA, they can point to 2 national championships, both by Louisville (1980, 1986).

Of course the CUSA of today has little resemblance to the old Metro. Conference realignment changed everything and the original Metro members are gone for better opportunities. But other than the name, today's CUSA also has little resemblance to the original CUSA of 1995 either.

Nova fans feeling themselves after this one. And rightfully so.

Only post that is a little ridiculous is that Mikal Bridges is the best freshmen in the conference. Not quite

The current meltdown on our board puts Chernobyl to shame.

Same thing happened at the BJ underground after the Nova game. And we weren't even expected to win. I wish they would to this sort of thing in late march to other universities not in the Big East.

What is the story behind the blue/white hats that it looked like half the crowd was wearing?

I think that is a combination of "fans" that jumped on the bandwagon and guys who just want to stir the pot. Some have been around a long time, but bought into the hype early and thought we were going to run through the season scoring 90+ points a game, thus scoring 55 with that expectations causes meltdowns... Nova is good, we didn't take advantage of our opportunities and they did last night. If we lose to St John's, no offense Johnie fans, then I'll join them in melt down mode.

Congrats on the win Nova and I hope we return the favor in your house Nov 20th!

I agree. You have to take NBall's comments with a grain of salt. His posting style is full of hyperbole when he gets excited. But if anyone saw that putback from Bridges last night, it's easy to see why he got so excited. Link below. Only a Frosh... :D

I'm a little ashamed at how many people were like "I want one!"
