Dayton brings a huge fan base and instant rivalries. As we have all experienced this week with UConn returning. It's good to have rivalries, its what makes college sports unique. Dayton brings that.

The BE at 10 didn’t need UD. UD brings nothing.

The BE at 11 doesn’t need to add anyone short of ND or Kansas. Both are unlikely but it’s better to wait for either of those two than to add in a mid major garbage program like UD.

Amen to that. I find cryer fans to be the most deluded and obnoxious fans around. I never want to see them in a league with us. And on top of all that, they don't compete on the same level as Big East teams.....Jimmy Carter anyone?

IMO, outside of Gonzaga, Wichita would bring far more to the conference than any other non-FBS school.

Hey now. We have plenty of reason to go off on Dayton. Mainly I’m just baffled why people think they’d be an attractive choice, especially someone calling themselves a xavier fan. They played a game in Cincinnati every year for 30 years and didn’t win a single game. They’re not a good program

UCONN spearheaded the campaign to add them to the AAC. We allies, yo.

I'm not advocating to add anyone outside of Gonzaga. I just think they're far more attractive than the A10 prospects everyone keeps mentioning here.

How is it that Xavier fans are going off on Dayton for no good reason, but you can refer to Wichita State as Wichiturd?

I am sure Creighton fans feel exactly the same way about Wichita State as Xavier fans feel about VD.

Besides, most of the reaction was about a supposed Xavier fan being in support of VD. Anyone who is remotely close to Xavier and the Xavier program knows that Xavier will have no part of Dayton becoming a part of the Big East and that is for strategic reasons, not because of basketball, in particular.
