Providence is in a bad stretch but they are currently 15-3. They would have to pull off a Seton Hall-esque implosion not to make the dance. If they go just 7-6 the rest of the way they're in. C'mon man.

you don't think 7-6 is still work to do? they just lost at home to marquette and seton hall. are you telling me it's a given they'll beat them on the road? My point is not whether they'll make the dance or not. I want to see teams play well and that matters more than their resume at this point.

I agree. they'll have the best player on the floor in every game and that's huge in the tournament. when the game becomes possession by possession late, i like their chances against anyone. that's why marquette loss doesn't bother me much. came down to last sec dunn with the ball. however, seton hall loss is a little alarming in that they couldn't even make it a one possession game. at home no less.

Everyone still has work to do at this point of the season, Oklahoma still has work to do(not much, but still). Again it would take a Seton Hall type collapse for them not to make it. Providence in a one and done situation is VERY VERY dangerous. I would rather teams be playing their best in March and have a chance to make a run than have a gaudy regular season win-loss record. Would it be ideal for the Friars to get their shit together and finish like 24-7 or something and get a top 4 seed?, hell yes.

What if PC loses the next 4 in a row, which right now looks very possible?

What are you channeling your inner philly fan with that outlook? :) Worse case scenario then they're still 15-7 with a bunch of very winnable games left(DePaul twice, SJU, etc.) The Friars will right the ship here shortly.

I'm not worried about Providence, they have a strong team and a great coach- they'll right the ship. I think the important takeaway from that game is the fact that Seton Hall played well and picked up a big road win right as they were starting to show signs of imploding like last year. Of course 1 game doesn't solve everything- they still need to keep it going, but it's a sign that this team has more character than last year's.

If I were a Providence fan, I would not be worried about making the tournament. I would start worrying about seeding, though.

Based on what I see in the team now, I think the seeding discussion is on the back burner. I expect PC to be out of the Top 25 on the 25th.
