Syracuse should not be in. If they get in, it will be due to their name. I don't care that boeheim wasn't around for some games. everybody can come up with an excuse why they lost a game or 2. maybe they shouldn't have committed any violations. that way their coach would have been courtside all season. if you break the rules than you risk the consequences

Yeah great point. And typically speaking, a pressing major team- think VCU- blows the doors off of lower seeded teams in the tourney... So little/no chance of a 3/14 upset there.... Also would be brutal trying to prepare for 3 teams instead of the 2.

the paths can be huge....
right now- from ESPN
Butler- St Joe's, then Kansas- in Des Moines
Xavier- Green Bay, then Dayton/Pitt- in St Louis
Providence- Oregon St, then UNC- in Raleigh
Seton Hall- Temple/Monmouth, then West VA- in Brooklyn
Villanova- UNC Asheville, then Notre Dame/St Bonnie's- in Brooklyn

man of all the possible 7's, Notre Dame would be the one I would least want to see in Nova's path. The other 7's are Dayton, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Even though Xavier beat Dayton by 30 on a neutral floor when UD was playing some of their best ball, to keep my health good please keep UD and Cincinnati away from Xavier... I would be nervous all week

Agreed. Avoid revenge games at all costs.

Think the Big East lucked out with SHU winning. Nova likely lost the 1 seed but SHU should avoid the 7-10 seeds which is more important.

I think it would hinge on if they are a 6 or 5 seed. The 6 line is pretty tough with some of the 3's in the 2nd round. WVU or Kentucky pretty tough....

SHU aside, honestly think this is a blessing in disguise for Nova. Not much difference between a 1 and 2 seed in terms of matchups (in fact, the 2 seed often plays the 10 seed in the second round). Nova won't be in the national spotlight as much as last year. If they make it past the second round they'd be really dangerous.

At least this year they can play without the President predicting they'll be in the title game (well, most likely anyways).
