I dunno about that. Last years SF with the great PC/Nova game(that was better than this year)- and then the Georgetown/Xavier great game- to me were MUCH better. The Xavier/SH game final score was pretty deceiving IMO of what kind of game it was..... I'm not saying tonight was bad, just last year was incredible.

Congrats Pirate fans on just a SOLID, no gimmicks, highly physical and hard fought, intense, impressive victory.

Per the question above, I thinks its a combination of both. The Hall has big, strong, athletic guards. Xavier ABSOLUTELY struggles with teams like this. Whitehead is probably playing the best ball of anyone in the conference and he outweighs Sumner by 30 lbs. Myles Davis, our glue guy and stat sheet stuffer, was worse than horrible(The Hall's pressure was effective obviously). A critical match up was Carringtons athleticism and speed vs. Davis' ball IQ, experience, and shooting. Alas, the young buck (Carrington) came well prepared, and happened to have smuggled into the Garden a 64 oz Colt 45 Malt Liquor Special Edition Billy Dee Williams/ Star Wars / Lando Calrision, bottle #1 of 1, signed "K Carr, It works every time, Billy "Deez Nuts" Williams. Lets just say once he opened/unleashed the ambrosia like liquid from that sacred container, a severe ass whuppin of monumental, some would even say Biblical proportions, was indeed an inevitability on our proud veteran leader, Mr. Davis (I'm obviously trying to mask the pain with humor  ).

Not many front lines can match up with X's, and although Xavier still has the edge there, the Hall poses more problems than most. Some teams you just match up terribly with. Seton Hall is that team for X. Carrighton and Whitehead will be an incredibly formidable tandem for as long as you have them. What are the rumors concerning Whiteheads likely departure to the League?

Thinking as a supporter of the Conference, this win should definitely jump The Hall off the dreaded 8/9 line, most likely up to a 7, possibly a 6. Looking at the bracket and comparing it to other years, there are so few team(s)/matchup(s)s on there that feel like "gimmes" and/or guaranteed blow outs. I'm essentially repeating what many of the pundits have been saying the last couple of months, but I can't remember the parity running so deep. I see the Big East having a real chance to advance 3 teams to the second week.

You're sitting watching games on TV. I've been at all three new BE tourneys, and this one has been the best atmosphere. And my team got knocked out early, so it's not like I'm just enjoying winning.

I know it's going to be tough to ever compare with some of the old days and the history and all, but this is turning into one great tournament.

There is not much that compares to what I am sure is an absolutely electric atmosphere in Orlando right now in the totally empty arena for the AAAC.

“Same for both teams,” Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim said of the clock malfunctions. Then he grinned. “Must have been Georgetown’s clock. Blame it on Georgetown. Write that, and then they’ll hate me more.”
