I can't believe a guy who is looking to gain respect as a sports writer in NYC, especially a guy who wants to be a go-to source for SJU hoops would do that. I think he gained some traction with Lavin, but after Lavin left he lost all real connections to SJU hoops. Doesn't look like Mullin is going to give the guy any respect any time soon. What a douche. Sorry to hear that but I am hoping Alkins won't make his decision based on some weasel on twitter.

A week ago I was confident. One of St. John's beat writers tweeted about Rawle possibly having eligibility problems, and Rawle blocked this guy (Zach Braziller) on Twitter.
What happened next was immature on Zachs part, he went on a bit of a Twitter rant about Rawle being the first athlete to block him, and then he tweeted that Rawle is receiving improper benefits from coaches. He tweeted "Rawle how'd you pay for the Knicks-Warriors court side tickets" or something along those lines.
So after that, Rawles cousin responds and says on Twitter something like "this is why kids don't wanna put on for NYC anymore, the fan base is nonexistent" and Rawle retweeted it. After that some insiders on St. John's boards suggested fans should move on from Rawle, they are sensing it's over. It is a mess.
I expect St. John's to get a fifth year grad transfer to get an extra guard and we should be alright next year. Then the 2017 class is looking good already (no commits, but we have established good relationships with like a dozen really good kids) and if that class pans out like I think it will that year we should be able to really compete for a spot in the dance.
