Here is the thing

First, one great recruiting class is nice, but it takes multiple great recruiting classes to make an impact. The seton hall mega class route is the exception, not the norm.

If the johnnies get maker and Alkins, I will concede this could be a special class. But as it stands now it is an average class. That's not an insult, it is just the truth. It is average in the sense that it is the type of claw study should expect to pull every year. But it's not a great class (which it would be with Alkins and maker)

This year's johnnies class might have a Better ranking than nova's class this year, but that's just because of the volume. Quantity over quality for those saying the johnnies have the better class. I would take nova's class, as it has the highest impact player, and it's a big man, which nova needs. For nova's needs, Give me the one top 20 big man and another big who is a project but might be good in three or four years over what the johnnies are bringing in this year. And if you're counting paschalll who will become eligible, then nova has two players joining the team that are better prospects than any of the johnnies guys they have signed so far.

But I never said nova's class was great. It's solid for what they need (front court help). But that's okay. Nova doesn't need a great class in 2016, because they have two all conference freshmen this year, and they have a very good junior class returning. They also have paschalll becoming eligible.

DudeAnon, Villanova only brought in 2 guys because that is all we needed. One of them, Omari Spellman, is a Top 20 / 5 star player, highest rated recruit coming into the Big East next year. Not to mention we have Eric Paschall ready to go next year. Eric was the A-10 rookie of the year, and will be a sophomore with 3 years of eligibility left.

Villanova was actually very much in the mix with Alkins at one point but backed off once we got Paschall. With Paschall, Jenkins, and Bridges, Jay did not want to create a logjam. This is the truth. Trust me.

I can understand NovaBall is sometimes the reason for these responses, and I think St. John's even without getting Alkins or Maker, has brought in a VERY good class that will already make them much better next year. But you can't compare Villanova's class to St. John's. St. John's is COMPLETELY rebuilding, while Villanova is only going after the pieces they need. Villanova needed size, and Jay Wright brought that in.

Look for Villanova to land 2 big time guards in 2017 to keep it going.

I think Alkins will end up in Queens. I think Mullin is going to keep this thing going as well. Mullin is bringing that old school, Big East in the glory years feeling to NYC. I LIKE IT.....I LIKE IT A LOT.

Really? The Nova fan will take the Nova class? Great, we'll take the SJU class and we'll see who did better.
