Sunday at 430 will be another day at the office for the flyers. They win one of the holiday tourneys every other year. X usually caps out early in these events

Long story short with Dayton fans. Unfortunately its considered a "dead" city economically. The only thing going for the city is the University. You are going to get a tremendous amount of fans that are uneducated, that are Dayton natives that have lived there their whole lives, and a substantially large blue collar community make up the majority of their fan base. John Chaney has called going their "going to the sticks". Its been said of Dayton grads "Nobody stays in Dayton" because the jobs are just not there. And that's factually true.

Dayton Basketball is the end all be all in that city essentially because there is nothing else. Thats why you get the huge followings to these tournaments, or any other game for that matter.

AND THE THING IS, YOU WOULD WANT TO ROOT FOR A TEAM LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!. Small town, blue collar, but the fans are the largest grouping of delusional, ignorant douchebags you can possibly imagine. A psychologist would have a field day with this group. I thought we were finally rid of them when we received the privilege of joining our current conference.

Someone that does not have the mental capacity or the willingness to see a situation/argument from multiple perspectives/angles i.e. "transference of perspective" is the definition of ignorant to me. Also known as a Dayton fan.

wow. Bit of a lack of class Jax. Those UD fans you see at the tournament are not delusional dead enders caught in a hellish life of delusion leaving in a dead city. They are 35 miles from you, they are Reds and Bengal fans who live in a medium size Midwestern town like half of America. UD is a lovely campus with a large out of state student body. People from all over the country attend UD and become lifelong rooters of the program. Your hatred filled rant shows your lack of class.

Hopefully I'm not the only BE fan who cringed reading your post.

WOW! Scary stuff really! Tell us one more time about how horrible UD's "fans" can be..........

I wish you were the only X "fan" with these kinds of weird thoughts but unfortunately I know you aren't!

Enjoy the college basketball game Sunday afternoon! WOW

Just a few points:

1) Jet: The error in this line of thought is that it doesn't matter if we beat them or not, they will still flood the site. Most of the UD alumni I know are reasonable people, but I think we can all agree they have an unusually high number of delusional fans.

2) Dickie V. mentioned several times during the X/USC game that Dayton should be in the Big East. He is doing the game Sunday, so I am sure he will say it again, and it will whip the delusional contingent of their fan base into more of a frenzy than they already are.

3) At the risk of alienating some of my Xavier brethren, the reality is that Dayton is a fine school, with some excellent programs. I visited the campus 3 or 4 times over the last 5 or 6 years with my 2 of daughters, and the people there were nothing but pleasant, even after I mentioned I am a Xavier alum. I do not hate Dayton. :|

4) One of the things I like about HLOH is that the posters from other fan bases seem to have our backs whenever the delusional UD posters arrive, so it helps minimize the all out X/UD pissing matches. :D

I don't understand some of my fellow Xavier fans. This small contingent of fans, feels the need to attack UD at every opportunity. I don't like the flyers and will not often root for them, but why are we taking shots at them and the entire city on this tread? It's time to stop being consumed with the flyers people!!! They are an above average team in an above average league, we are a good team (trying to be humble) in a great league. We should be thankful for what we have going for us, without having to build us up by putting them down.

Let's just take care of business today and get the W.
