One call and one play doesn't lose you the game. A team shooting 57% from the field and 3, along with going 10-10 at the foul line in the 2nd half, most certainly does.

It was a moronic call to put a freshman in cold in that spot, but they lost that game on the defensive end in the first 19:59 of the 2nd half.

Remember when Jordan was a sexy pick for national coach of the year.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Still scratching my head 2 months later how this Providence team went 7-6 against the 122nd ranked non conference schedule?

I was entertained by the intro of Eamonn Brennan's Bubble Watch article. I mean, what did you do with this Providence team if you're the Selection Committee?

Nova is 17/24 from the 3. Ridiculous shooting and most of it is DePaul's defense...

Good, good, get all that hot shooting out of your system before Saturday.

That's how it works, right? Right?

These last 4 games plus the BET will tell the tale. If they are 17-15, they aren't making the tourney, no matter how good their run has been here. Those 13 games do count. They're actually going to be an easy team when it gets to selection time.

They have the 4 worst losses of any kind in the entire conference, I doubt they're even in the committee's radar. They'd need to win 3/4 or win the BET.

IMO PC needs 3 more wins. They have 4 left plus the BET. Have left Marquette, @ Villanova, Xavier, DePaul, and BET.

3-1 and they are 18-13 and even with a BET loss would be 18-14. With at least 6 Q1 wins(Creighton, @ Butler, @ Marquette, Seton Hall, and @ Georgetown- along with either Marquette or @ Villanova). @ DePaul might be as well.

2-2 and then a win in the BET and they are 18-15. With at least 6 Q1 wins as well- the BET win being the 6th.

It would be surprising to see a team like that with as many Q1 wins not selected.

Friars have same number of Q1 Ws as Duke, Kentucky, Oregon. LOL, come selection Sunday if the friars keep winning at this level, it is going to be a very interesting day. It’s going to be very hard to keep out a team with 10; Quad 1 wins if that happens.

Overall record means something though....

Only one time in the last 25 years did a team make the tourney fewer than 4 games over .500. That was Georgia in 2001 with one of the most brutal SOS ever. 18 Q1 and 8 Q2 games out of 30 total games. Providence to have any prayer at all needs at least 3 more wins(with at least 2 before the BET).
