Although this year, Villanova doesn't rely on the 3-ball as much as we used do, tonight was an example of how dangerous we can be when it is falling. Brunson, Arch, Hart, Booth, Jenkins all hit multiple 3s, and Bridges had 1.

Now I know how Creighton fans felt when Douggy McBuckets and the rest of the boys unleashed 3-point hell on us a couple of years ago.

Good game Creighton. Unfortunately, you just caught us on one of those nights when the shots were falling.

Not really, we stunk. Getting outrebounded by Nova shows a lack of effort. Chucking up 3's instead of getting post touches where we have a perceived advantage was dumb. This team has lost all confidence since the Georgetown debacle.

Prior to this game, Nova led conference play in fewest offensive rebounds allowed as a percentage of Total opportunities. They really amped up their focus on the boards since the OOC, so tonight was not an anomaly.

The double standard that is apparent is funny

Nova wins by 16 at St. John's without their center, and everyone says nova looks bad and is falling apart
Xavier struggles to a single digit win at home against the same johnnies team, and people say it is due to St. John's playing well.

Nova made so many threes because Creighton didn't contest the perimeter. Fools gold. That formula won't work in the tournament for nova. Tourney teams play defense.

Loving seton hall right now. Whitehead is turning the corner.

Watched the nova game on CBS sports first, and tivo'ed the shu game on fs1. Fs1's production quality was noticeably better.

Whitehead and Delgado completely balled out last night.

Delgado: 19 points (8-9), 13 boards, 2 assists, and perfect from the line
Whitehead: 21 points (6-12), 6 boards, 8 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals

Hello all,

That game was...atrocious lol. I have only one excuse for X playing the way they did. And that was the gametime. I had to rush straight from work to home and back to get there with at 15:00 to play in the first and it seemed like a large section of the crowd was in a similar situation. I can't remember the last time the crowd has been less involved. I hope the fanbase can adjust to the 6:30 games because it just isn't the same when the house isn't full to start the game. Mack even said so after the game.

That being said, St. Johns was very impressive. They were excellent defensively and never let up. Everytime X seems to start a run SJU came back. It was a boxing match with no knockout punch. The refs were awful. We probably ended up benefiting more cumulatively from their awful effort, but they were bad on both sides.

Also, it was cool seeing Mullin. Had fun heckling him. Not sure if it was on TV, but he slammed his bottle against the ground and had to be told to stay off the court multiple times.

After watching Delgado frustrate and push around Ellenson last night*, I am now terrified of Seton Hall.

*Okay, before #mubb jumps all over me, Ellenson still had a good game and is a very good player. Delgado was just better last night.

Well if you watched the game St. Johns was actually playing really well. Hitting 3's playing good D and showing grit and hustle. The game against Nova both teams just looked really sloppy. The two games were night and day.

SH really looks like the likely candidate to finish 3rd in the league right now. They are playing really well.

I didn't think SJU was playing great d. We put 90 on them. X's defense stunk and we played terrible man to man. Gotta improve that.
