23rd between 9th and 10th. (Across the street from London Terrace). Really miss the old neighborhood!!

Tim Welsh (former PC coach) was subletting a place in London Terrace when he was doing work for SNY. I ran into him at Jake's Saloon on 23rd & 7th. Nice guy.

I used to live in Peter Cooper Village and Stuyvesant Town, just a few blocks East of you guys. Speaking of Tim Welsh, I am not surprised you met him in a bar, that guy liked to get out. I was at Peter Dillon's one night, and he was at the bar. I was on a date so I didn't really get a chance to speak with him, but at one point he asks the bartender if they have food, which they didn't, Welsh than goes out to the street, gets a bag of peanuts, comes back in, and continues to drink at the bar while eating his bag of peanuts. He was not bothering anybody or anything, but I wasn't the only person who found it to be humorous.

Apparently my friends used to see the guy "legless" at bars up in Newport when he was at Providence, not to mention I have friends who live in a town around Hofstra, and when he took that job, he had already made a name for himself in a couple of bars there.

I am sure he is a good guy, and believe me, I am no saint, but he certainly has a reputation for liking the sauce a little too much.

I lived in Peter Cooper Village for a year. Right on 20th and 1st, directly across from Essa Bagel. My cousin grew up in the apartment years ago. My aunt moved to FL but held on to the rent controlled unit. A bunch of my cousins lived in it over the years and when it finally became available to me, I moved in. Then, MetLife wanted to sell the PCV/ST complex so they started asking rent controlled tenants to prove it was their primary residence (part of the stipulation for rent controlled units). Obviously my aunt couldn't do that, so I moved to 22nd street for a smaller apartment paying more than twice the rent (believe it's more than triple the rent now).

And yes, Timmy loved the nightlife. He was a regular at the restaurants and bars on Federal Hill in Providence and was known to stay late. I saw him up there several times. He has at least a couple of young kids now so hopefully he's cleaned that up a bit. But he is a good guy. Talked hoops with me and my friends for a good hour at Jakes.

I graduated before that was built and went to Carnesecca once after I left for a game against DePaul. I don't think i've ever actually seen it.

Sometimes I wonder whether Chris Mullin or Greg St. Jean is the head coach of St. John's.

Goodman is a tool. Analysts are all monday morning quarterbacks. If St. Johns had won that game (which they almost did) then he would be praising Mullin.

Goodman is an idiot. Who for some unknown reason loves to bash St. John's this year. Maybe Mullin banged his wife or something?

He's strange. He picks certain teams/people to bash and he won't stop. Ricky Ledo was a target. Ricky didn't qualify at PC but by all accounts during his one year he practiced hard, attended classes and was a supportive teammate. Goodman just wouldn't stop hammering the kid.

He made a comment about Ledo when he signed with PC, something along the lines of it being a no win situation for Cooley (i.e. had to recruit him because he's from Providence, but he's a headache of a personality). It's almost as if he wanted to keep proving to everyone that he was right, despite the fact that Ledo caused no problems while at PC.
